In the ‘cotton belt’ of South Punjab, Pakistan, many farmers are shifting away from cotton farming as a primary source of livelihood. Mehwish Zuberi, a doctoral researcher from HNEE, shares some insights from her current research stay in Multan district. Her study is part of the junior research group project TRANSECT which explores agricultural transformation and scenarios for local bio-based economies in Central and South Asia.
